WORSHIP SERVICES

We gather for worship each week at Saint John Lutheran Church (Flatrock) to receive God's gift of His grace through Word and Sacraments to strengthen us in our faith. God speaks to us through His Word read, sung, and proclaimed and we respond in confession, prayer, song, praise, and thanksgiving as we follow one of the Divine Service Settings, one of the Offices of Matins, or Vespers from the Lutheran Service Book (LSB). Β In addition we gather seasonal and festival services during the year: mid-week Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Holy Week/Easter, Ascension Day, Thanksgiving, and New Year's Eve.

During the Summer (Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend) we offer a weekly Thursday service at 7:00 p.m.

We invite you to join us for worship and Christian fellowship. Our worship schedule is as follows.

What shall I render to the Lord for all His benefits to me? I will offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving and will call on the name of the Lord. I will take the cup of salvation and will call on the name of the Lord. I will pay my vows to the Lord now in the presence of all His people, in the courts of the Lord's house, in the midst of you, O Jerusalem. Psalm 116:12-13, 17-19

And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. Acts 2:42

Holy Communion Policy

In the Lord's Supper, Christ is at once the Giver and the Gift! By His promise, His very Body and Blood are really present and thereby we come into immediate contact with the exalted Christ! As we do so, witness is also given to oneness in doctrine by those who receive the Sacrament together. For this reason, we practice close communion and kindly ask guests to speak with the Pastor before the service.
